Airtel has finally launched their 3G services in the cyber city of Hyderabad in India. This launch was much anticipated as Hyderabad is one of the biggest IT hubs in the country and has the potential of being one of the largest 3G subscriber base in India.
So far, we are getting mixed reactions for Airtel’s 3G performance in other parts of India. It will be interesting to see the performance in Hyderabad.

Where is your comparison of the 3G services across all operators…When are we getting that?
Soon. Stay tuned.
Does Airtel give a public IP address for the device on 3G? like it’s the case with 2G.
Yes.
Can you do a quick test by having a server on the phone and check if the ports are showing as reachable from other ISP (use OpenPortChecker)
yes it does.
The same stopped working on 2G/EDGE recently. Ports were reachable before.
Airtel 3g network speeds are good in hyderabad. Google maps not able to get current location (works on gprs, fails in 3G). Tech support know nothing abt it. Billing is questionable. I de-activated the service after 9 days
