While it’s popular as the best Android Tablet launched yet, Samsung Galaxy Tab never impressed me much. I have always looked at it as Galaxy S phone with a much larger screen. But if these leaked specs turn out to be true it will be an excellent option for someone looking for a 7″ tablet. Here are the leaked specs with my thoughts.
- 7 inch 2048×1200 Super-AMOLED display
That resolution looks way too high! Imagine a Full HD 1080p video will have black bars on right on native resolution. Or, you will have to zoom and interpolate it. Also I can’t imagine this kinda display costing the same amount as the old Galaxy Tab. It’ll be awesome if Samsung actually pulls it off though. - 3D Display after upgrade to Honeycomb. (OMG! But frankly it’s not something I’m a big fan of)
- Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread with a future upgrade to 3.0 Honeycomb (As expected)
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor (I thought Samsung might go for their custom CPU)
- Gorrila Glass screen (Nice!)
- 8 Megapixel Rear camera with 1080p Video recording and Dual LED flash.
- 3 Megapixel Front camera (Full HD Video chat!)
- USB Port (Excellent addition)
- 64 GB Flash Memory, 1024 MB RAM and MicroSD Storage
- Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass and Barometer (Yeah Barometer! I hear it helps in more accurate weather prediction)
- Standard connectivity options including Wifi, 3G and Bluetooth
Ahead is a leaked video that looks like a teaser ad.
