HTC’s announcements at the Mobile World Congress deserve to be called the most boring of the lot. While I’m sure the phones and tablets will be good and usable unlike the other gazillion companies but I was expecting something special from them. The Android phones they announced are basically upgrades to existing models.
HTC Desire S is a minor upgrade to HTC Desire with a aluminium unibody. It features a slightly upgraded 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor, same 3.7 inch display, Android Gingerbread, a front camera and 720p recording on the rear camera, slightly more juicy battery and doesn’t include the optical trackpad.
HTC Incredible S has the best hardware of the lot but it still is nowhere when compared to the dual core beasts from Motorola. Samsung or LG. It runs the same slight upgraded 1 Ghz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor as Desire S but includes a big 4-inch display, 8 megapixel rear camera with dual flash and 1.3 megapixel front camera. It runs Android Gingerbread customized with HTC Sense.
HTC Wildfire S the smallest phone by HTC ever with the dimensions 3.99 x 2.34 x 0.49 inches and weighs just 105 grams. It features an upgraded 3.2″ HVGA display, a similar 600 MHz processor and a 5 Megapixel rear camera with flash.
I still can’t believe that none of the phones feel even state of the art. You need to pull up your socks HTC!
