It may sound stupid, but I hated my Android phone for a long time just because there was absolutely no ringtone that I could use as an SMS tone without getting irritated. If you feel the same about your phone here is the iPhone Tritone that you can use the SMS tone on your phone.
Also for Email (and other) notifications on Android, I’d suggest the Facebook Pop.
