There have been rumors that the upcoming PSP2 will be as powerful as PS3 and Sony is asking developers to gear up and make great content for the device. The rumors mentioned that it will be available sometime by Q4 this year. But apparently there is a change in the plan. Sony is planning to announce the PlayStation Portable 2 as early as this week!
This might just be a trick to dampen all the hoopla that Nintendo 3DS is creating. Sony will probably announce some cutting edge PSP2 specs and then delay the launch indefinitely. While this won’t affect Nintendo fans, it will definitely make the casual gamers wait a few more months before they make a decision. In that time, Sony will create enough hype around the PSP2.
Personally, I’m more interested in the Playstation Phone that is now rumored to be unveiled in the MWC in Barcelona next month.
