The next version of Nintendo DS, the 3DS which offers glasses free 3D gaming has started pre-order and will set you back by USD 249.99. Will be available in the US on March 27th 2011 and in Europe on March 25th 2011.
Some of it’s unique features are
Dual Screens
The widescreen display on the the top display resolution – 800×240 and the touch screen input on the bottom operates on a 320×240 resolution. This’ll definitely shut the folks who say that they need custom UI/input buttons for playing games, other than the usual joystick keys.
3D Camera:
This comes with 2 screens and 2 cameras to shoot 3D video from your handheld. Imagine playing a computer game where the input is taken from the video that’s getting recorded in front of you.
The console comes in 2 colors only at the moment (Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black)
You can still play the existing Nintendo DS and DSi games on this gaming handheld in 2D.
Just like all the new phones, this also comes with a Motion Sensing Accelerometer and a Gyroscope for a 6 Axis movement input.
