In addition to launching OS X Lion & updating their Macbook air line of notebooks, Apple also updated their Mac Mini line of desktops. The best part is that they are cheaper now. Here is what the new minis pack in them:
Core i5 & i7 processors:
Just like the air, the mac minis also feature the latest Intel processors offering clock speed up to 2.7 Ghz on core i7.
Thunderbolt:
The new mac minis now sport the super fast Thunderbolt port.
AMD graphics:
he 2.5 Ghz model features a discrete AMD Radeon HD graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory offering twice as fast graphics performance.
Plethora of connectivity options:
The new mac minis feature the following ports:
- Thunderbolt port (up to 10 Gbps)
- FireWire 800 port (up to 800 Mbps)
- Four USB 2.0 ports (up to 480 Mbps)
- HDMI port
- SDXC card slot
- Gigabit Ethernet port
- Audio in/out
Apart from this, the new minis will ship with 500 GB of hard disk space upgradable to 750 GB HDD or 256 GB SSD. All mac minis have built in worldwide compatible power supply.
The price ranges from $599 to $799 (depending on which model you choose and how you customize it). Available now on the online apple store.
