Acer laptop CPU blunder

A few weeks back a friend of mine purchased an Acer 5920 notebook with Intel T5750 chipset. When the OS was setup and everything, I did what I always do when I see new computers – fire up dxdiag to see the configuration.

To my surprise the laptop actually had a higher clock speed than it was written on the laptop sticker and box. When I checked the BIOS I found, not only faster but a better CPU series altogether, the Intel T7500. 200 Mhz faster, faster clock speed and double the cache!

Looks like Acer has an extra lot of T7500s and they are disposing them off in cheaper laptops. So if you’ve always thought you are super-lucky, go get an Acer 5920 laptop 😉
