Tata Docomo has launched the HTC Desire Smartphone in India at a price tag of INR 28,900. The company, in a press conference held in Delhi on 16-Aug-2010 announced a partnership with HTC to launch the highly anticipated Android powered Smartphone in India.
HTC Desire is one of the closest handsets to Google’s Nexus One. Some key specs of the handset include:

The HTC Desire comes with an exclusive offer for TATA DOCOMO users in India, wherein TATA DOCOMO Postpay subscribers will get free data download of 500 MB per month for 06 months. To avail this offer Tata DOCOMO customers will have to SMS ‘Android’ to 54321 from their HTC Desire handset.

This device is the first among the HTC Devices to start getting Android 2.2 with HTC Sense (Froyo – Frozen Yogurt)
I'd still prefer a Nexus One because I'm sure they'll update it more regularly.
