Indian deity on the iPhone

There are 2 new apps available on the iPhone which let you offer prayers to Godess Durga and Lord Vishnu.

The apps – Shri Vishnu Prarthana [$1.99, App Store] and Shri Durga Prarthana [$1.99, App Store] have been developed by Robosoft. Both of these apps are divided into two parts.

Durga and Vishnu Chalisa: In this part, you listen to the Durga and Vishnu Chalisa and chant along.

  • Pictorial representation of Chalisa Text

  • Chalisa text, Pictorial representation and Chalisa meaning synchronized with Chalisa audio
  • Easy swipe gestures for Fast Forward and Rewind

Durga and Vishnu Aarti: In this part, you pay tribute to and worship Goddess Durga and Lord Vishnu

  • High-quality, soothing and devotional Aarti audio
  • Perform Puja starting with touching the bell to start Aarti
  • Touch the lamps to light them
  • Touch the incense sticks to light them
  • Touch the flower bowl to shower flowers over the deity
  • Apply tilak on the deity
  • Offer fruits to the deity
  • End the Puja by performing Aarti
  • Creates an ambiance of devotion

    three quick questions:

    i)Are we supposed to take off our shoes while using these apps ?

    ii)How do we get the prasaad ?

    iii) Humans would upgrade GODS know ?

  2. Nice..Though the concept is quite new, Such a app would prove to be quite useful when you are on the go and still would like to pray everyday!
