Have an old PC lying around the house eating dust? Is it too close to your heart that you do not want to sell it to the junk guy? How about donating it?
Apparently, a small market research ensues that around 15% of respondents are willing to part away with their old computers and accessories provided they are assured that their contribution would be used the right way. So, in case you are one of those 15%, head straight to donateyourpc.in.
Donateyourpc.in [aka DYPC] is a service where you can send in your PC donation requests and they will take care of the rest. These guys verify each party. So you can rest assured that your PC will go into genuine hands. Also, you do not have to take care of the transportation if you are donating. The receiving party has to manage that. Plus, since your donation is local, you can always check out if your donation is being properly used. Keep in mind that the PC you want to donate should have a decent config. I am assuming no 486s then.
You can also send in requests to receive PC donations. However, you (or your organization) will have to prove that you are worthy of receiving donations.
The service needs volunteers. In case you are interested, check out http://donateyourpc.in/volunteer.html
