Save Phone Extensions in Contacts [iPhone Tips]

NewImage.jpg

Do you have to call a lot of phone numbers where you have to dial an extension? Do you have many friends with desk extensions? Then this tip is for you. There is a way you can save a contact’s extension in your iPhone and it will dial it for you when you call that contact. Here is how:

  • Edit the contact you want to add the extension for
  • Tap the number you want to modify
  • Tap the “+*#” button on the dial pad. This will change the dial pad to show some symbols
  • Tap the pause button as shown above. This will add a comma after the number
  • Add the extension after the comma at the end of the number and hit save

Done! Next time you call this contact from your iPhone, it will dial the main number, give a small pause after the line is connected and then dial the extension, connecting you directly to the person you want to talk to.

You can insert multiple pauses, so you can also use this trick to store the sequence of digits that will take you directly to a customer care executive of your bank or any other service provider.

Pretty neat trick I must say.
