iPhone OS 3.1.2 released by Apple

Apple has released iPhone firmware 3.1.2 yesterday. The update comes with the following fixes & improvements:

  • Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep
  • Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart
  • Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming

DO NOT upgrade if you are on a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone. The iPhone dev team has given the following update on their blog:

    • PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.2
    • There is no estimated release time for compatible tools (please don’t bug us about this).
    • Any information we have regarding this update will be posted here.

  1. I have a 3G 16GB iphone that's locked to FIDO network. I have never jailbroken or unlocked it. I just do the regular firmware updates via iTunes and the phone is currently on 3.1.1 firmware. Can I jailbrake it and then unlock? will this work or not unlockable? Please help

  2. I brought the tomtom app from apple store and hoping to install it into my Iphone 2G 2.1. Well…fat chance it doesn;t work with the Version 2.1 therefore I jailbroken and unlocked it and have it upgraded to v 2.2.1. Damnit it still doesn;t work. May I pls ask what version I need to install to my dump 2G 8gig unlock iphone inorder to have the tomtom app works on it. Also where to find the upgrade.

    Thanks a million~
