Allright. So Apple did release a new iPhone today. But to the disappointment of the many, it wasn’t an iPhone 5. Although, the specs bump totally qualify the new one as the next gen phone, Apple went with the “S” terminology this time again to signify that the primary benefit from the upgraded specs is gonna be increased speed. So here are the specs of the iPhone 4S (changes from iPhone 4 highlighted in bold):

ebay launched its iPhone app long back. However, users in India could not use it as it did not support the Indian store (ebay.in). Not anymore! ebay India’s Country Manager announced in a press release that the app now supports purchasing stuff from the India store in addition to several other country specific stores. I checked and could indeed see India as the option under settings. Awesome.
So all of you ebay fans, buyers or sellers, get your iPhones and make a sale/purchase on the move! The app is available for free on the App Store.

Jenga is one of my favorite games. I play it with my roommates and at get together with friends. The game is based on an awesome concept. It is the game which the geek gang plays on the famous show “The Big Bang Theory“. The game is now available in the iOS app store for $0.99.

I’ve always been a big fan of one-touch mobile apps done right. They fix one problem, fix it well and fix it without making you fiddle through complex UIs. This is the only reason I like widgets on Android. They provide a great one-click interface for doing basic things. Not many apps on iPhone are like that and the ones that exist, are not famous enough to be used widely. Today I’ll tell you about one of them – Capture.
This is one of the most impressive iPhone concepts I’ve seen till date. The video has been computer generated by a 3D animation studio.
The iPhone 5 concept sports 3 important features.
Here is a super awesome video recorded by an iPhone 4 from inside an acoustic guitar:

Apple has reduced the price of factory unlocked iPhone 3GS 8GB in India to INR 19,990. This is the first time Apple has done something like this in India. The rising android adoption due to its wide choice of cheap handsets is believed to be the reason behind this move by Apple (The Google Nexus S is now selling in India at a price tag of INR 19,900, HTC Desire for INR 15,000). This also shows that Apple might be a little worried with Android taking up a lot of market share, even though they might not show that they are.
Nonetheless, this is great news for people wanting to put their hands on the iPhone. 3GS is an awesome device. It supports the latest iOS and will also support the next big version – iOS 5, though some features might not be available.
In case you are wondering how iPhone 3GS performs when compared to iPhone 4, here is a video that might answer your questions:
According to @ChronicWire, it’s rumored that Apple Stores in the US will start selling Factory unlocked iPhone(s) from this Wednesday (15th June 2011). This is news to rejoice for iPhone lovers in the US as they no longer need to signup for 2 year contracts.
All iPhone4 models – Black and White (16 and 32GB) would be available.
Also MacBook Air is rumored to receive the SandyBridge refresh sometime in June-July.
Where’s the iPhone5 Apple?
[UPDATE 14th June 2011] – It’s official now, the iPhone4 is available on the Apple US Store. The prices are USD649 for the 16GB and USD749 for the 32GB version. These are approximately the same prices for the factory unlocked iPhone(s) selling in Canada, Singapore (except for India where it’s around 100$ expensive).

I use my iPhone 4 to listen to songs on my car’s bluetooth enabled music system. Its super convenient to be able to wirelessly transmit songs from the phone to the car’s audio system without the need for a cable. Also, it doubles up as a handsfree device when I get a call while I am driving.
A new addition to iOS 5 will be the ability to transmit artist, track and album data to the bluetooth audio device so that the screen can now show the track name, artist & album of the song being played currently. I am not sure if my car’s audio system is capable of displaying this data (I will keep my fingers crossed though), but there are many cars out there which do support this. Here is a video of Toyota Prius in action with the new feature:

Wow, the list just goes on and on. After FaceTime on 3G & custom vibrations in addition to a plethora of other features, apparently, iOS 5 also lets you delete music from your iDevice directly. Previously, you had to do this by tethering you device to your computer and deleting the item from iTunes. It does make sense now that Apple is making all the iDevice go PC free. So all you have to do is swipe your finger across any media item and you will be presented with the ever so familiar delete button to delete the item from the device.
