Facebook totally wants to get in the location game with Places. Facebook Places is a Foursquare like feature in which you can check in a place on Facebook if you are physically present at that place. For example, if you are in your neighborhood comic book store, you can check in to it on Facebook so that your friends can know where you are. You can also tag your friends if they are present there.
SwirlyMMS, a popular jailbroken app for iPhone to send MMS is now available as SwirlyMessage for iPad 3G for $12 on the Cydia store.
In addition to MMS, SwirlyMessage also lets you send SMS from your iPad 3G (if your 3G sim supports sending and receiving SMS and MMS).
Yahoo Mail is still the largest web mail service in the world. Gmail is gaining popularity, however, it is still behind Yahoo in terms on number of users.
Soon after the iPad was released, Gmail launched an iPad version. Yahoo is catching up and has recently launched a HTML5 version of its popular web mail service for iPad users. This version leverages advanced HTML5 abilities like caching and panes with individual scrolling to give the user a rich Inbox view. You can compose and send email messages even if you are offline as it caches your mails and then sends them whenever an internet connection is available.
