HTC Joins The Tablet Race With a 7 inch Android device

I’ve always liked HTC Corporation for it’s realization that Asian markets have equal and better potential for smart phones and devices. It has released Android phones at the same time here along with the US Release (sometimes even before).

Now HTC Flyer enters the tablet race (filled with Samsung, LG, Motorola) with their 7 inch Android tablet. It’s not impressive though as it looks like it’s trying to match up with an year old Samsung Galaxy Tab which is being upgraded.

The main features are

  • Runs Android 2.4 Gingerbread (Really? although Android 3.0 is coming soon).
  • 1.5 Ghz Single Core CPU
  • 1GB RAM and 32GB Built in Flash memory
  • Aluminum uni-body construction
  • 1024X600 (the usual max resolution supported by Android 2.x)
  • Ships in Q2, 2011 (when the market will already have faster android tablets)

May be it’s a tablet which is intended for only facebook usage like those HTC Face book phones. Can’t find the “F” key here though.

Here’s the first look video
